John Connor

John is fully certified with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA) to advanced level in Music Theory and Practice,

as well as being a RSPBA Instructor and Adjudicator. 

I have been playing the bagpipes for nearly 50 years, my passion has led me to play with some of the best pipe bands in the world and performed with some fantastic musicians. I have shared a stage with Runrig, Capercaillie, Alan Stivell and Dan Ar Bras to name but a few.



My pipe band career began at Innerleithen RBL taking me to Bilston Glen pipe band, Selkirk, Woolmet, Peebles Ex-Servicemans, Lothian & Borders Fire Brigade, Scottish Gas Caledonia and Polkemmet Grorurd pipe band.

I reached the top of the pipe band world when I played  with Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band during which time the band won 40 Major Championships including 5 World Championships.



I have preformed at functions all over the world from St Andrews Day in Sofia to Burns Night in Kazakstan. Concerts in the Stade de France, Florida and Monaco and as a regular preformer at the Carnaval de Bailleul  & for the International Burns Federation in Budapest.
